10-2-22 Standard diner food, very small inside, pricing is ridiculous for breakfast. First time today, won't be back, not worth... $60+ tip for two people for breakfast. 10-3-22 Owner, The food was standard diner food. Diners I frequent are Cromwell Diner,New Britain Diner, and Kizl?s Restaurant and that is what my pricing comparison was based off. Although I stated that the dinerwas small, it wasn?t a factor in my score. You can absolutely feed two for under $20 if you want the bare minimum breakfast,especially when soda/juice is $4+. Two American cheese omelets with toast only, a side of sausage links, FS pancakes, and onewaffle. Three juices and a soda = roughly $62 w/o tip. I have been to the grocery store, I go every week, as a matter of fact,while leaving your establishment and spending $75 I informed my husband that, that one breakfast just cost more than the fourmeals a week we get from Hello Fresh. I am not sure how you being in business for many years and outstanding employees has todo with my comment. I didn?t bash the employees, nor make a mention of them, and only stated that your establishment was smallinside. While you may feel that my comments are unjust, and as a business owner, of course I expect you to defend yourbusiness, my comments are my opinion of my visit and feel that my rating is justified. Was pricey for the quality of food. I heard a lot of great things about the homemade hash but I can say with some certainty that... it's better canned. They're having an unfortunate adjustment period where the prices you're paying aren't matching menu pricestoo. Service was pretty slow. First time and was impressed! Excellent menu choices, it was hard to choose. Breakfast choices served all day. Thought it was... clean and service was good. The homemade coconut cream pie slice was really delicious!! Not many places offer pasta primavera-it?s the dish I had chosen and it was awesome. We went for an early dinner tonight and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered an iced tea with lemon, and was served an... iced coffee with lemon instead. The server took new drink orders before replacing mine 10 minutes later. We both ordered chefsalads. Not only were they small and expensive, but they arrived without the hard boiled eggs included in the menu description. The service was slow and inept. Sadly we won't be returning. Read more

My husband and I were recommended by friends to check this place out . Let me tell you the food is delicious and fresh. The... atmosphere was so welcoming and gave a home vibe. And the service was the best we have had, compared to other restaurants. Myhusband and I ordered the mozzarella sticks ( so yummy) and the Buffalo wings that were fresh ????. We had the broccoli cheddarsoup- the best soup . And of our main course , husband had the meatloaf and he loved it . I had to 8 Oz steak well done and itwas not dry, nice and juicy. For drinks my husband had the wine and I had the seasonal Mimosa. I forgot the name of it but itwas blue with a sugar rim . I loved it ! My husband and I are picky about our restaurant foods, and Effie's hit the spot,I meaneven the coffee there is good. I highly recommend this place. The waiter, Jerry was on point with service, he was nice and madeus feel welcome. Definitely coming back to Effie's for round 2 and this time I am going to get dessert ( the lemon pie).
