Amazing modern cuisine tasting menu
We came for my sister’s anniversary. Good evening. They have a seasonal menu. Limited choices but recipes are unique. We had... celery soup , cheese plate , Kobe steak , lam chops , calamari , salmon and brownies. The food was really good. Except it wassalty. Our best choices are salmon and kobe steak. It had been too long since we dined at Nell's as we often get caught up in the 'new' and sometimes lose track of our gems in... the neighborhood. Restaurant week reminded us to frequent this one. The food is always amazing. Despite a complaint of 'dateddecor' in a bad review, I would say it is more of an old school classy establishment. Really the best thing about Nell's isthat they are not trying to be cool, rather they just make for an amazing dining experience if delicious and interesting work ofa great chef is what you are looking for. Even our server who was clearly grumpy about the restaurant week patrons filling thehouse could not sour our experience, although I would have been psyched for a coffee with the amazing desert! As always, the food and service were excellent, with the experience further enhanced by jazz playing softly in the... background. The restaurant is intimate and quiet, the perfect setting for conversation over a fine meal. It's a shame thatmost newer Seattle residents have yet to try Nell's; the kitchen consistently produces some of the city's best food accompaniedby a very nice wine list and specialty desserts. If looking for the buzz of a busy, contemporary restaurant, Nell's would notfit that bill; instead, it aims to and succeeds in providing intimate fine dining to be shared with loved ones and friends.
