First time visitor! My friend has been raving about their catfish and Beef On-Choy. Both are awesome!! We ordered a 6lbs catfish... and it fed 5 of us. The skin of the catfish reminded me of a very thin lechon skin ?. The On-Choy is something I've never hadbefore, but it was soooo good! An excellent place to have some great food and service. I got a beer with some orange spice flavor. I will come back shortly.... Vu, a waiter there, went above and beyond my expectations. I came here from hearing all the rave reviews from my bother and sister in law as they have been coming for almost 10 years now.... How did i not know? I must have been living under a rock. Either way our family of 11 decided to weather the snow storm forsome good food and boy was not disappointed! The restaurant was surprisingly spacious inside, with the exterior of the buildinggiving it a deceiving feel of anything Rainier Ave. The service was like at typical Asian restaurants. Cold, fast, and nononsense, a great first sign to great Asian food. We ordered throng choy salad and I can understand why it's so pricey. It'samazingly freah and delish, probably the reason why Anthony Bourdain came to the restaurant to try the dish. I've never had itand felt I've been missing out all these time! We got done pho. Nothing mind blowing just typical goodness. The party had somesort ribs player which was a big hit as expected. We got some honey walnut shrimp to see if it's comparable to honey court andit's pretty good. The salt pepper squid was exceptionally good as well. The house special chow mein was hard to eat. Thecrispy noodles was not proportioned to the dish so it was hard to mix. All in all, the experience was great! It's hard to spot this restaurant if you're driving by on Martin Luther King Street because of where it sits and the window... display, I supposed. Most recent restaurants that say ?BBQ? would have a window display of bbq pork, ducks, and more. However,since the restaurant is below the street level, you don't see that. This restaurant is popular indeed, and I discovered it bybeing there and reading about it online. Anthony Bourdain and Mike Chen were there. The staff is fantastic, and the food isdelicious. I like the giant crispy catfish with vermicelli and the dipping sauce. It?s so good! I recommend the grilled conch aswell. Read more
