On my way out of Pike Place on a Sunday morning, I decided to visit Bang Bang Café in Belltown. There was a healthy crowd. Most... the tables had groups at them and there was a short line to order. I specifically wanted their New Mexican style burrito. Fromwhat I know, New Mexican burritos are characterized by the red and green hatch chile sauces that are doused on the burritos,otherwise known as Christmas to New Mexicans. Naturally, the New Mexican burrito is called The Bang Bang and I was definitelyglad I stopped by. The burrito was pretty large, similar to something found at Chipotle and it was doused in half red hatchchile sauce and half green. I had not tried hatch chiles before so trying them for the first time, I saw how they are differentfrom other chiles. The red sauce has a deeper, more complex flavor and the green is more acidic. Great food! Customer service is just great. The staff person I spoke with both days I went was incredibly friendly and helpful.... He remembered me which shows how much they care about what they do here. I had the vegan burrito and it was delicious. Portioncould have been more but it's what I expected for downtown Seattle. I had the mac and cheese the following day and it is out ofthis world. Giant portion and I wish I could have had another 2 bowls. Even comes with a side salad to lighten things up. Youcan't go wrong if you are looking for a filling vegan friendly breakfast in the downtown Seattle. There are also plenty ofoptions for other eating choices. Read more
