This is hands down the best bar/restaurant in Seattle! If you are in the area I highly suggest you stop in for a Mannys. Or if... you need a bite to eat before 8pm, everything is market fresh from pikes place market. It's the best you will find in Seattlefor the price, if you're looking for burgers, fries, salad, and/or beer! Read more

DIVE BAR, but seriously in all the best ways. Low key place where the locals hang out, with friendly, chill staff, good drinks... that are a good price and a solid kitchen. A funny story, we were staying in Seattle last month before we went on a cruise. Myfather-in-law wanted to take us out to a nice dinner, fine dining, but the bistro he took us to was at a hotel and due to lowstaff, they were only serving people staying in the hotel that night. He has diabetes and we need to find a place to eat prettyquickly so he could take his medication. I had read about the good burgers at Retro but didn?t know anything else about it. Isuggested we go there because it was just a couple blocks away. When we walked in the door, it was obvious that this was a VERYdifferent ambience than what my father-in-law had been expecting, LOLOLOL. Basic bar, plain wood tables, maroon walls with oldrock posters, a skeleton in a Santa suit?you know, your usual dive bar motif. At this point everyone was hungry so we decidedto stay even though Papa looked a little nervous. We had the best time! The servers were so nice, there was a cool local beermenu, our food was good - tasty burger, delicious meatloaf sandwich- and I really loved the two shots that I had - theWashington apple and the Rainier cherry! There were people playing pool in a separate room, and they had table games out so wegrabbed Jenga while we were waiting for our food. Turns out, it was naughty truth or dare Jenga and we laughed our heads offplaying while we had our dinner. My teens thought it was great, and I can promise you we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere waymore than we would have at some snooty hotel bistro. Once he got his food, even my father in law had a good time. Thank youRetro for an unexpectedly memorable Seattle experience! Read more

This review is solely based on service, as we did not eat here. My son and I stopped in at 8:10pm on Wednesday, August 10. We... stood at the door for about 5 minutes before someone acknowledged us. During this time there were two staff standing at the bartalking (with no customers), and a waiter who was helping at a table. The waiter came over to us and just said "we don't allowminors after 8", and walked away. As he started walking back towards us I asked if there was anything else he could recommend, and he said a name (which I did not catch), and that it was their sister property. I asked how far, and he said 5 blocks, thenwalked away. No directions, or care in the world. He had 4 tables in the restaurant to serve, and two other staff doing nothing.I am not sure if it is law in Seattle to not allow minors in restaurants after 8pm, but even if so, have a bit of tact in theway that you handle that, and at least make people feel welcome, even if you cannot serve them. Btw their website says you donot have to be over 21. Read more
