Hello Byen Bakeri...of course everyone knows you are good, but what happened? Here is what we bought ( at 11 am the shelves were... empty), croissant, cheese jalapeno roll, almond raspberry tart, iced chai, iced coffee. I want to be 'absolutely' fair andobjective- the croissant was simply a cardboard art disguised as Croissant. For this I want my money back. There is no way, even in the most absurd, worst bakery will you be able to sell this. Again, I want my money back on this. Cheese Jalapeno roll, reminded me of a throwback strip mall bakery in Australia selling rudimentary baked stuff. Very provincial. The almond raspberrytart was nice but did someone just kept pouring the sugar? Come on guys, have you tasted your stuff? One last point, don'tforget when making iced drinks, iced coffee, chai...the ice liquefies the drink. You are saving with less milk, but don't forgetto make the coffee a bit stronger. I would think that Byen folks have become complacent with their notoriety and long lines, they don't have to worry about excellence. Or maybe I am a nutcase asking for too much! And let's be logical, what is wrong withadding few more chairs to sit down. Is the cafe experience only limited to- stand in line and buy what is available and then eatat home hiding in a closet? Where are we...the Berlin wall has been down for a while now!!!! Read more

Their shop is tiny and cute setting. Their pantries and cakes are tasty and pretty. Also they have sandwiches, savory... options. We got whole pastrami sandwiches, that was pretty big and enough for 2 peoples. They are covid continuous, no indoorseating for now. There are 2 small tables in front of the shop. All servers wear masks. Read more

I'm glad to have found this bakery. It's probably one of the only bakeries serving the princess torte cake in its original form.... You can buy a slice or a full one. It's simply delicious!! Their coconut based cake is ok ish. Can have a stronger coconutflavor. They also have a good selection in traditional breads and cookies. Read more

Nice to find some baked goods that reminds me of Sweden. They had Semla (even though it was not the season for it). The semla... was a smaller size, so not quite the massive buns I am used to from Sweden. It was also slightly dry. The princess cake andchocolate cake were really great though. Read more

Beautiful bakery with delicious looking desserts. The display case was full of amazing looking pastries. I came around 11:30 AM... and most of the case seem to be sold out but was able to get my hands on a few scrumptious looking desserts and a bag of "poorboys". My first time trying Semla and it was definitely new for me. A good hint of vanilla, cardamom and almond paste insidewith a very light cream filling! I enjoyed that the pastry wasn't too sweet but didn't realize that the breading was a littlemore dense then imagined. Poor boys were also unique to me. A lot more heavy and dense as compared to a regular frenchbaguette. Overall a great experience and staff was friendly and quick! Read more
