Maya puts a lot of heart into her food, and it shows. We ate here on a "Meat +3" Monday and left pleasantly stuffed. The meals... are BYOB, and though we were content with the provided bottomless sassafras sweet tea I wish we'd brought a little bourbon tospike it. The three fat fried chicken and the collard greens were the best I've ever had, and the salt and vinegar chips on thepimiento mac and cheese were a tasty touch. The meal is perfectly ended with a banana pudding that took me directly back to mychildhood. Keep in mind that if you wish to leave a tip for the fantastic service, you'll need to bring cash. The whole experience is incredible from becoming to end. The food is AMAZING and the story of Mae's is so endearing.

Excellent southern food options that are seasonal and take advantage of local ingredients, though unfortunately not local to... here. Maya Lovelace is the chef, and she walks you through the ingredients and inspiration behind each dish/course, of whichthere are a lot at the Wednesday seating. Everyone was more than stuffed by the end, but that's part of Maya's goal. I'lldefinitely be back but for a Monday menu, which will hopefully be a little more manageable. Read more
