My favorite place to take friends and family from out of town. I like to treat myself to their donuts every now and then... too. The donuts are pricey when compared to Krispy Kreme. But that is because they pack way more flavor. I don't think youshould eat donuts often so when you do it might as well be the best. The bourbon blueberry basil is my favorite. I have tried 9-10 droughts from here and I tend to enjoy their old-fashioned doughnuts more than others so far. It is tender,... moist and dense, but it is not heavy. Even next day, I enjoyed the texture and flavor :) I have tried 3 different fillingdoughnuts, and I wish they filled with more cream / jelly? If I buy a filling doughnut, I would like to taste/eat cream morethan dough. Crème brûlée is worth trying, but you have to be there at the perfect timing when they touch the sugar. Read more
Good, but not as good as voodoo. We came to Portland for the weekend and read tons of articles saying blue star donuts was the... place to go. We ended up going to both blue star and voodoo and voodoo was much better. They also seem to run out of optionsreally fast (we came in the afternoon).
