Superb breakfast experience. The staff is personable, friendly, and the manager came over to introduce himself - having worked... here for 41 years. I ordered the eggs Benedict, fruit, and cappuccino. The eggs were done perfectly, fruit fresh, and cappuccinowas a solid standard italiana espresso style. For a departure from Portland?s many ?industrial chic? / ?farm to table?restaurants, enjoy a classic century old European styled dining experience with timeless cuisine that exceed Portland?sstandards, I can?t recommend The Palm Court more! John is FANTASTIC! We took a day trip from Tacoma for my Moms bday and ended it here. Best service ever! 100% will come back!
I went here for dinner on a Sunday evening. The service was friendly and I had a nice limoncello Martini as an aperitif. I... ordered a "bittenballen" as a starter. This is basically mashed potatoes with minced meat which has been deep fried.Unfortunately, they balls had been fried a tad too long so they tasted burnt. I had a glass of white wine with the starter andthe main course arrived before I had finished this. I know American restaurants try to be efficient, but as an European, thisfeels rushed. For a place which tries to be elegant, this was not very impressive. I had the steak frites for my main course.The fries were a little soggy and the sauce bearnaise had little taste. Didn't have the best experience with the hospitality at this hotel but the palm court for breakfast was the positive... exception. They took my order quickly, warned me off the time it takes to deliver the food to make sure I was okay with it,quickly checked in with me when the food was delivered and recognized there might be an issue (salmon was undercooked) andcorrected the issue. Server was attentive and offered a to go cup for my coffee as I finished my meal. Overall, had a verypleasant experience at The Palm Court. Read more
