Pretty great food, great selection of wine, cheese of the day is great! This borders on fine dining, so if you're hungry and... looking for a hearty meal, this isn't the place. I've had super great personalized service, and then just plain good service. Read more

I ate here with a friend and we both loved it! We had impeccable service and everything we ordered was delicious. It is tiny, so... be sure to call ahead and make a reservation. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the chefs cook, plate the food, and makecocktails. It has a classy, yet casual atmosphere with some people dressed up and others wearing jeans (such is Portland). Itwould make a great place to go on a date! Read more

I joined my sister and brother-in-law for our weekly dinner and we chose Bar Avignon for they had not been and it was ages since... my last visit. We had an amazing dinner with attentive and knowledgeable service, outstanding food and warm welcoming ambiance.If you have never been, go. If it has been awhile, go back. Exceptional service, thoughtfully designed menu items skillfully prepared with fresh ingredients, a pleasant informal interior. ... It isn't inexpensive and it isn't unfairly priced. Our birthday dinner party of six was made welcome, comfortably seated in asemi-private nook, surrounded by the tempting and extensive wine collection which is a strong feature of the restaurant. We hadbrought a home-made birthday cake, which was refrigerated, garnished with edible fresh flowers, sliced and plated (fee).
