Love getting their pasties at different stores around town but I REALLY love the chance to swing by the shop in person. The staff is even better than the desserts, which seems impossible. My son and I are fighting over all of our choices. Buy two... of everything to avoid complex discussions about what constitutes a bite. The Swiss roll is by far the best thing that everhappened to Portland. As a family with lots of allergies and sensitivities including gluten, dairy, and nuts, Gluten Free Gem has been our go-to for... years. We?ve used them for cakes for special occasions and my son and I love the experience of walking in and having a casefull of options to chose from. I especially love their quiches and chocolate chip cookies. As someone who has been pregnant andhad a baby during the pandemic I also so appreciate that they still require masks so our most vulnerable community members canactually feel safe going inside a business! I recently had to take our baby, who we almost never bring inside buildings due tonot only COVID but RSV, with me and our 5 year old for an appointment and I felt taking her inside with us which was so amazing!Thank you, GEM!
