My friend and I go to Genie's every Sunday morning. We have loved it since our first visit two months ago. The staff is... wonderful and will even remember your name. The food is excellent, my favorite is their Brioche French toast and a BFD coffeefor breakfast or brunch. It really isn't all around great place to eat . Read more
I usually add some kind of sauce or syrup to my breakfast to add some extra flavor to it, and after every bite I kept thinking,... wow it still doesn?t need any sauce. I don?t know why this word comes to me but the smoked tomatoes were charming. Call itpretentious but I was charmed! They had the perfect amount of acidity. This has been my favorite brunch place for years but no longer. When my mom visits from CA I always take her here first. She... loves the food and bloody Mary?s. Unfortunately I had to tell her upon my last visit, the bloody Mary?s went from stellar toundrinkable. It had no flavor in n the mix, and was mostly thick tomato pulp texture. There?s improvements to the food but it?sno longer my favorite brunch place. To be fair most places in Portland make horrible bloody Mary?s and drinks in general. Super tasty brunch spot. Not a super long wait on a Sunday, they have vegetarian options and the meat-eaters in the group said... it was the best country fried steak they'd ever tried. Definitely on the list of places to go to over and over! The onlydownside was that it was pretty loud in there, but not a deal breaker for us. Read more
