The staff is amazing and knows us by name. I feel at home staying here. I?m only giving four stars because of the banging from... construction we had to hear all night. I feel as if the rate should be lowered during times of construction. I don?t recommendstaying in the old side of the building to the right but to each it?s own. (Smelled old and musty with water leaks) Read more

Always open, always available, always comfortable. Been here probably more than 10x. Cascade Grill is yummy, but is no longer a... super affordable option. The convenience store is a life saver. Always a good pick for my family. Read more

Solid 1.5 Stars. I'll give 2 for location a closeness to the state border and airport. Lobby and room were grubby, and dusty and... clearly not recently cleaned. Window was open, and screenless so I had a couple of flies for roommates. Aircon worked, but wasfalling apart (Literally). There was... SOMETHING that looked like cookie dough ground into the carpet by the window. Workers inMoe's Deli were hostile, in the Marketplace were friendly and nothing could make me enter the bar/lounge. As a stop on the wayanywhere else, it's above average. As a 'hotel', it's sorely lacking in manners and cleanliness. Read more

I booked a 3 night stay here for the races. I did my research, even called them, and as well talked to some locals and felt,... alright I?ll give it a go not expecting the four seasons. This area of Portland is in a rougher neighbourhood and I knew this. When I arrived and stepped out of my vehicle I was smacked in the face by the strong odour of urine. No exaggeration it waspotent. I entered the lobby and the scent of urine was as potent. I spoke with reception about an early checkin andunderstandably, it was a little too early. I left and thought no I can?t stay here, I just wasn?t comfortable with the area. Itook the hit and canceled. Went over to the Oxford Suites near Jantzen Beach across from the Holiday Inn. I will say, everybodyI encountered at The Portlander were Polite, Pleasant, and Professional. It is not their fault for my cancelation it was allabout the environment/neighborhood for me. I can not speak to overall cleanliness of the rooms or any other amenities this hotelprovides as I did not stay here. For the same price to a few bucks more per night there are better options, however if your okwith interesting places, give it a shot. But not for me. Read more
