I live in WA and I’d still fly to Pittsburgh just to eat at Mola (and visit my daughter too if time). Blackboard specials fun... to try. Toro was the best I’ve had. Brown sushi rice a refreshing touch. Small enough menu keeps it fresh. Sorry we atemost the food before taking pic. Read more
Mola is truly a gem in Pittsburgh. I consider it a top 5 restaurant in this city, and it’s family run! You honestly will not... get fresher, better quality fish for price. After speaking with the owner and chef Alex, I learned that the fish is sourced andshipped directly from Japan - I’m not surprised! Through the many times I’ve visited, I find they often have hard to find,seasonal fish on their menu - just check out their instagram or their blackboard for what’s in season or available at themoment. The way they handle their rice is different from what you’d normally see at other restaurants too! You might thinkthat it’s brown rice because of the colour, but if memory serves right, the rice was actually prepared by soaking in redvinegar to give it that delightful, delicate complementary flavour to their fish. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu,and I am saying this as someone who has lived in Japan (and currently lives in NYC). Mola is spectacular and I hope they openmore locations!! Read more
Best sushi we have ever eaten. California roll and crispy spicy tuna fantastic. Eel nigiri great but pricey. 2 pieces for $9.... Pork and chive dumpling also good. Read more

Extremely high quality, delicious, fresh. The Wagyu melts in your mouth. The salmon belly & tuna belly are incredible. The rice... is much better than the usual white sticky rice. The bao pork buns are amazing. My son did all the ordering & I loved it all! Ohmy gosh, save room for mochi!! This little place fills up fast at suppertime so get a reservation. Parking is Street parking.Friendly staff & highly trained kitchen. There are other options if you aren't a sushi or seafood fan. Our drinks, Honey Peach &Lychee spritzer we're excellent. This place needs to be on your definite special occasion must-do list. Read more
