Had a very nice lunch at the museum café. The service was impeccable and the "Parisian Gnocchi" had an amazing combination of... flavor and texture. Be warned, it is a bit on the heavy side, but every bite is worth the extra steps/stairs whatever you needto do to atone for it. Read more

This open dining area is near the entrance and gift shop of the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History. They have a nice... selection of salads, soups and entrees that will please most everyone. Like most museum restaurants, the prices are higher thanyour local fast food places but the service was excellent and the portions were more than adequate. Paid admission to themuseum isn't necessary if you want to eat at the Cafe. Read more

The Cafe Carnegie is a unique, small dining experience for visitors of the Carnegie History and/or Art Museum. A few notches... above the typical "cafes" located inside these types of establishments. The food is provided by The Speckled Egg. I tried theturkey club and it was fresh and flavorful. Coffee was good too. The cafe has a cramped, limited self-seating area. The tableswere dirty and I didn't like that. The cafe also has a "full service" area that staff needs to seat you in -this includes theoutdoor seating as well. This full service area is a bit of a flex. Seems to me like the museum wants to have the illusion ofoffering a fine dining experience to patrons where you sip on wines and cocktails before elegantly strolling the halls ofexhibitions. The museum's Great Gatsby ambitions are well intentioned but in reality it doesn't really pan out. If you're at themuseum and need a quick bite this works though. It's good enough. Read more

Not the normal we experience here , but today was absolutely the worst dining experience . The host rolled his eyes at us when... we said we didn't have a reservation ( there were 7 tables seated ) Our waitstaff ( Vincent ) could not have been worse orslower. We ordered Cappuccino by the time we got it , it was cold. A favorite meal the poached salmon salad seem to have beenreduced from a lovely poached salmon, on a bed of greens to something out of a can. I couldn't it it , it was like mush. Adifferent wait staff asked how everything was I replied "IT WAS HORRIBLE" she said sorry and left.Vincent never asked how ourmeal was or if we wanted anything else. When they finally brought the bill we paid it and for the first time I can remember, leftno tip.I don't know what has happened, we used enjoy dining here. I gave it a three because I have eaten here several times before and it has always been good. Today, 8/5/2022 was much... different. The wait staff was terrible. Our cappuccino sat long enough to get cold by the time it came to the table. My meal wasactually good but my friends was horrible. The salmon was mush and not fresh. We were never asked how everything was even thoughVincent our waiter walked past us several times. We waited for much to long for a check and for the first time in my life I didnot tip my waiter. I certainly hope that this was just a bad day for the Cafe but I will think twice before eating here again. Read more
