You had me at pizza?at first? but now that I have tried sourdough pizza from @driftwood oven, pizza dough will never be the... same! I tried the Bianca white pizza (add pepperoni of course), and also the Red Top and both were delightfully crunchy andjust the right amount of sauce & cheese! Also, the local beers were on point! In an effort to find the best pizzas in the US, we've eaten a lot of pizzas. Driftwood so far has undoubtedly been the best... pizza I've eaten. The toppings were well distributed and delicious. The crust is flavorful, crisp yet slightly chewy, and heldup to the toppings, which is all I look for in a good pizza crust. The pizza was so good we went back the next day to try aroman slice. We also purchased a loaf of sourdough, which was used for Italian sandwiches the next day. We're not local toPittsburgh, but we'll definitely return to Driftwood next time we're in town. Read more
I haven't visited Driftwood in quite a while so seeing how the interior looks now was a bit surprising (last I had went there... were more seating options), but that was not an issue with me. I got my food very quickly and it was absolutely fantastic, aperfect amount of honey on my four cheese pizza that was overall very flavorful and exactly what I had imagined it to be. We had a thin crust whole pepperoni pizza that was sourdough. The flavor was very good the texture was very good it was cooked... right and right balance of cheese to Sauce to crust. The only two issues would be that I would change that pepperoni to Ezzopepperoni as well as the cost. $29 for 16-in pizza albeit was one of the best around, but quite expensive for a 16-in piece thatmight cost $2 to make.
