It was a beautiful afternoon and I stumbled upon Redfin Blues ... it is an amazingly peaceful place to look out over the... river and enjoy a nice view. I had a delicious salad with grilled salmon ... all of the selections on the menu looked good andall of the prices were reasonable. The staff was attentive and appreciative. We're visiting Pittsburgh for a few days and we were looking for a unique dining experience. We got what we were looking for at... Redfin Blues. We were met with a smile by the hostess as she greeted us and led us right way to a table on the outdoor deck,overlooking the river. I ordered the grilled Mahi, my wife got the Caribbean salmon. Both were superbly prepared and presented.Nice beer list, short but adequate wine list. We appreciated the upbeat background music, and the lively atmosphere, and thecasual experience. Excellent food but the selection was limited. Also, they don't take reservations. But, they do call ahead seating. Cocktails are... unique and very strong. Highly recommend calling ahead so you can grab a river view seat. Read more
Got there at 7:50 pm. They said 2.5 hour wait. Sounds impossible. But we said ok, we aren?t starving, we will walk the trail.... 30 minutes later they called. Clearly trying to get people to leave. Wonder what the owner thinks of that? I ordered the steaksalad. Well done. He brought our food and my steak was rare. I normally just eat whatever and don?t bother complaining. Ican?t choke down raw meat. I sent it back. The waiter brought it back the second times and asked if I wanted to check it. Ofcourse my husband was done eating by this time so I said no, I?ll just eat it. Now medium rare. Don?t ask me how I want itdone if you aren?t going to do it especially after the second request. The waiter seemed unhappy from the time he laid eyes onus. Yes we can sense that. I guess not getting rid of us from the get go made us unpopular?
