A wonderful retreat for a 6th anniversary, nestled among the trees along a quiet river. 6 suites make up the main Inn, and one... is better than the other. The Webster was nicely appointed with a gas fireplace, comfy couch, large king four poster bed andluxurious bathroom with soaker tub and spacious shower. Our steps to the outdoors led to the Firepit common area with the soundsof the waterfall sneaking through the windows. Light barnwood and white shiplap throughout. Well stocked mini fridge, coffeemaker and a sound machine for bed! No hairdryer, at least not one immediately available. 2 bikes available for local riding. TheTavern restaurant next door was delicious and trendy. Very nice ambiance. Visited the Mercantile briefly but they seemed to bewell stocked with coffees and light snacks/breakfast. A mildly strenuous 1.8 loop around the river was a nice daily jaunt aroundsome beautiful foliage and homes. Didn't love that the lobby was just a doorframe away from our room. The walls aren't thethickest and a ramp to the main parking lot out front travels past the 2 main windows in your living room. Not as private as Iexpected. I am sure other rooms are better. The complimentary breakfast left much to be desired. Hard boiled eggs, a few breadproducts, yogurt and granola, coffee, tea and juices. Having 2 restaurants mere feet away I feel a better breakfast could'vebeen offered, complimentary, especially for the prices we paid for the room. Management seemed extra careful to remind us of the930 curfew, maybe because we are mid thirties, definitely not the typical crowd at this establishment. So be prepared that theywon't light the firepit after 8pm. Even with these small inconveniences, I would return here in fall time in a heartbeat andsuggest you do the same. Read more

Final price in total for each room (includes tax) $1,200. Really expensive but wow. This place is really nice. Everything that... you see in the fridge (minus the birthday cake and the edible arrangement) is free. All the drinks are yours to keep. Even thedrinks downstairs in the breakfast area is free for anyone to take. Our innkeeper for the day was Julie and she has beenextremely helpful and hospitable. The amenities here are amazing and the bathroom even has heated flooring. BUT my only problemwith the place (aside from the lack of signal) is the TV. My friends and I wanted to play Playstation and use our Chromecast butwe could not plug in anything since the TV was installed IN the wall. My boyfriend and I have been to every hotel in Norwalkand this has been by far the best hotel/inn we have ever been to. We will definitely be back in the near future. Read more

I'm not sure why this Inn is listed as a 3 star hotel by Google - it is at least 4.5 star. The location is peaceful and... beautiful, the rooms are spacious and perfectly appointed (the bedding is amazing), the breakfast is not your typicalcontinental - it is truly delicious. To top it off, the people that greet you and assist you during your stay are SO pleasant. It is a wonderful nearby escape from NYC! Read more

The In at GrayBarns is a popular hangout in Norwalk and for good reason. I went for dinner on a Saturday night and we were... seated promptly by the hostess. Service was great throughout the meal and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menuitems. For starters, we got the crab toast and kale salad - both were tasty and relatively easy to share. For mains, my sistergot the cheeseburger and fries and enjoyed it. My wife got the halibut and also found it quite good. I had the lobster which wasflavorful, though I felt there could have been more provided for the cost. A good spot for a weekend dinner, but be sure to getyour reservations early as they get taken rather quickly! Read more

After reading many promising reviews on this newly renovated restaurant close to home we decided to get a reservation for a well... deserved parents night out. First of all it's almost impossible to get reservation because of its popularity. We happened to geta reservation for two in the bar area. The ambience is clean & inviting but loud. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, butbesides that what a disappointment. The food was mediocre & way overpriced. We had a pasta entree with rock shrimp & crab- theamount of seafood in the dish was absurd. The best part of our dinner is what we brought home with us, food poisoning. I didcall them voicing my concerns & I did get a call back, but being a restaurant manager myself for many years I expected more thana basic I hope it wasn't us, our seafood is fresh & we hope you visit us again. If anyone knows anything about food & food prep, just because it is fresh doesn't mean anything- there are other factors that can come into play as well. I can promise you rightnow this was our first & last dining experience there. Just because restaurants are new & trendy does not make them good. Asconsumers we should expect more. If you decide after reading this review to still visit Graybarns for dinner I do recommend theRussian Mule, it was a great cocktail. ..... this is the first review I have ever written about any establishment.
