The new Tavern at GrayBarns has rustic and clean style that matches the scenery and food. Slight contemporary twists on... “tavern/farm” food. The smoked carrots are a must try. The menu has so many delicious sounding dishes it’s hard to choosebut the smoked carrots are a hidden gem that are likely overlooked. Otherwise it’s hard to go wrong in your choices. Theyalso have creative and delicious cocktails. Second best espresso martini in Fairfield County and the “make it snap pea” wasamazing. If you have room for dessert I recommend the cheesecake. Everything we had was outstanding. Beautiful restaurant, great wine and liquor selection and delicious food. Fried buratta was... a novel take on how to serve but absolutely delicious. Tartare was also a little different as it was served on a potato rostiwhich added a nice counter to the rich tartare. Strozzapreti was good, nothing too memorable but a solid dish. When we askedthe server which item she would pick she chose the burger, odd choice with such a varied menu but she was right. Burger wasdelicious but fries were the star, perfectly crispy. I am not a big dessert person but I think the butterscotch budino was oneof the best desserts I have ever had. Creamy layers of butterscotch pudding, cream and crispy, buttery shortbread on top. Servedin a small mason jar so a little difficult to get all items in one bite but worth the effort. Highly recommend if you wantdelicious high quality food in a quaint New England atmosphere. This place is amazing, everything was outstanding all the way from the Valet service to the delicious dessert, I had one of the... most expensive Hamburgers but let me tell you it was worth it every penny, definitely the best hamburgers of Fairfield county,my mom said the Smoked Duck wat the best dish she ever has since COVID started, I highly recommend it. A friend and I had the pleasure of dining at the Tavern at GrayBarns recently. The ambiance was warm, inviting and... sophisticated. We had no wait time for our reservation and were immediately escorted to our table by the hostess upon arrival.Jennifer took our order and provided fantastic recommendations for our drinks and food. We enjoyed the Japanese Whisky and aCocktail. The smoked carrots were fantastic and the Burrata, just as good. The Spicy Rigatoni stood out for us- it wasexquisite. Amadou took over for Jennifer towards the end of our meal and recommended his favorite desserts, both of course, wereexcellent. Our desserts were served with candles in celebration of my friend's birthday. The additional service staff refilledour water glasses and consistently checked in with us through the night. Overall, we had a terrific time and look forward to ournext visit. Cheers to Jennifer, Amadou and the rest of the staff for a job well done and thank you for such amazing service. Read more
