Date night at its best. We bumped into this gem while travelling to NYC. The ambiance is subtle. No backround music muffeling... actual conversations. I think it helped open our senses to the food. We ordered the octopus and pork belly(specials) as apps. The octopus was perfectly cooked. It had hints of smoke to it, as it was perfectly charred. The pork belly was crispy and sweetand paired elegantly well with the delicious light sauce. Our entres comprised of the scallops and steak. I orderrd the steakmedium and it was done as ordered and paired well with the crunchy root veggies. Delightful. My wife ordered the scallops. Thechef caramalized the top perfectly and added a nice punch with the pickled micro veggies on top. It was paired with a sauce thathad a warmth that comprised of a hint of corn. I wish I could decontruct the ingredients to describe it better. They amalgamatedwell. Dessert was mindblowing. It transported us to a tropical island. Tropical- named so appropriately had a coconut cake in amild chocolate dome with mango gelatin and the most deliciously decadant coconut icecream. It was topped with a crunchy coconutmeringue crisp. It had a lovely texture which elevated the whole experience. Perfect ending to our much awaited date night.Thank you chef. We shall visit again. Read more

In my opinion the best upscale restaurant in New Haven. The prix fixe menu is fantastic. I kept telling my husband it was the... best salad I’ve ever had! The beef short rib risotto was so rustic and comforting. Both of the desserts we had wereincredible. The Yuzu mignonette was incredibly creative and delicious. Service extremely attentive and perfectly paced. Read more

Amazing food. The kind of place you go for the flavor and not to get stuffed. Everything very well prepared, attention to detail... is incredible. Foie gras is a must have! Read more

Absolute props to the hostess, Maria, who was able to help accommodate my party who is Gluten-Free. The small things like... providing GF crackers in place of bread did not go unnoticed. The altered GF tasting menu was fantastic! The ceviche andbranzino were our favorites. The amuse-bouche were also fun and delicious. Only slight criticism (if at all) was the texturesimilarity of the duck confit and short rib dishes. Both were great on their own but maybe the starch components could be alittle more varied. It was GF so I really shouldn’t complain, can’t fault the special accommodations. Our server, Tiburcio, was so sweet and attentive. He took the time to explain each dish and really made the experience memorable. The tasting menu wasso worth it although we were absolutely stuffed (definitely come hungry!). We’ve passed by the storefront for years and wishwe had come in sooner! Definitely recommend for date nights, birthdays, or really any special occasion! Great vibes allaround. Will be back again. Olea is truly a Spanish fusion journey for your palette. The food was exquisite and memorable. I think I will still talk about... how good their ceviche is for the next 10 years. We sat outside but did not miss out on the fine dining experience as thewaiters were super tentative and the head chefs came out to check on us multiple times. The sangria was delightful, thank youfor everything ! Read more
