Visiting CT and always stop by Chestnut Fine Foods for a little bite. Though I was surprised by the lack of sugary treats in the... display, every else was just as I remembered. I picked up some split pea soup and the best oatmeal wheat bread. Very hearty,nutritious and satisfying. Purchased two loaves of that wonderful bread to take back home with me. Read more

This lunch spot is hands down our favorite to visit in New Haven! It's located right on State Street, and inside is super cozy... and quaint. Their staff are so helpful and welcoming. Ask them about any of the dishes, and you'll get an enthusiasticdescription and a beautiful plate. Everything here is made from scratch including their warm loaves of bread, delicious chickenpot pie, interesting quiches, homemade soups, salads, and gorgeous desserts. Love, love love and will be back for sure next timewe travel to the Shoreline! Read more
