The thing about being on the Main Street "Extension" is that you are kind of out of the way and outside of the main hustle and... bustle of all the other restaurants. But don't let that steer you away from this place. Carmela's is definitely worth gettingaway from the Main Street hype. Pancakes, crepes, omelets and fried chicken with gravy were among the things we tried on ourvisit and were not disappointed by any of them. The Banana waffles were also awesome. The place is unique and the atmosphere isvery cool. Just about the only issue we had was that our food did not arrive at the same time which created some issues in ourparty as the people without food started eating the food of the ones that did. A good problem to have I guess, since everythingwas sooo good! Great place, great time and great food! Will definitely come back for more. Read more
I can?t believe I?ve never been here, the food is delicious! I usually only give 4 stars and save 5?s for those very special... places! This place definitely deserves 5. Food was excellent! If I could give zero stars I would. After waiting almost 40 minutes for breakfast when tables were clearing out around us the... owner ?Carmela? took it upon herself to approach our table and said ?it?s been 25 minutes, it?s coming.? We didn?t know what tosay, we were shocked. She continued on by saying ?she waits an hour and fifteen minutes at restaurants for food?. And that?ssomething to be proud of? I cannot believe the OWNER had the audacity to speak to customers this way. Shortly after our foodcame. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was green.
