Mannnnn, Al Shish Palace rocks. It?s my favorite restaurant in Madison County. The food is prepared fresh (tomato?s are brought... in from a Birmingham farm every morning for the Fatoosh salad) and the owner is a decent man. The chicken lunch special withrice is amazing. They have lamb chili that?s not on the menu anymore(?) but they still have it. Get some as your side. And theyhave grape leaves finally! Don?t be put off by the relatively high prices. They don?t use cheapo ingredients and the marinatingis slow and with love. I always leave full and satisfied. It?s worth every dollar. Read more
So??we chose to dine in at this restaurant and I?m glad we did. The appetizer that they served was warm pita bread and a garlic... spread which was delicious (my breath was funky until I was able to brush and rinse) and it added flavor to the other dishestoo. We ordered the Shawarma chicken and the Chicken crème both with rice and one with a salad and the other with rice soup(add the garlic spread). Everything was good and plentiful. I?m big on service, it determines whether I want to come back anddine in??..the waitress was more concerned about her cell phone than the customers. There was a man that brought out the foodand he actually took better care of the customers than the waitress?..so sad. Hands down the best kebabs in the Huntsville area. Don?t even waste your time looking for a better kebab. I already tried that.... I?ve been wanting to try this place for such a long time but have been put off by the prices. I finally took out a secondmortgage on my house so I could try these kebabs everyone is talking about. If you like garlic, do yourself a favor and get abucket of the garlic sauce. It?s divine. Like I said, the kebabs were phenomenal. I also ordered the ?fresh hot? bread that wasneither fresh nor hot. I?ll definitely return, but probably only for the lunch specials due to the prices. Update: Returnedfor the more affordable lunch special. I really wish I didn?t. The beef was super dry. I ordered the fattoush salad and falafel pita (pictured below) and they were fantastic! I asked for the salad to be redone... because the pita was a little too toasted for my liking and it came back out so fast. My husband ordered the lamb shawarma andsalad. The only thing he would change would be adding a little sauce or dip for the shawarma. I on the other hand would changeabsolutely nothing. Everything was wonderful from the garlic toum to the entrees and the service was *chef?s kiss*. Thank youso much to the entire staff for making our first time to this restaurant so perfect! Stopped in for lunch today, place was empty. Female hostess/waitress wasn't as friendly as I'm used to, but got me seated and... drink pretty quickly. I ordered the kafta off of the lunch menu, served with rice and soup or salad. I chose the lemon chickensoup which was good but more mildly flavored than I had hoped. The entree was very flavorful, although the meat was a littlechewy and may have been a bit overcooked. Still was quite good. I will return in a month or so and see if things have improved.I hope so because I think they show promise! Read more
