Great Mexican food and atmosphere, tacos Al pastor
The food was good, and the service remained friendly through the rush. My seat at the bar turned out not to be a great choice,... since the mariachi trumpet was aimed right at my ear. But the patrons were singing along with them, so their music was clearlypopular, and the margaritas looked really good?I'll have to come back and try one, when I'm not planning a long drive. So, whileit's still not like my experience in Mexico City or what I'm used to in California, this is definitely the best Mexicanrestaurant I've found in Rhode Island. Read more
It took me a day or so to write this review because I wanted to write with a clear mind. Bandidos in Cumberland is not the best.... Its very much average and my family and I only came because the ratings show 4.5 stars. Bandidos in Cumberland is overrated. Thefood made my husband sick the next day, I thought the meats I ordered tasted a little funny but I blamed it on the grill, themeats they use here are not of the highest quality and the cheeses are all from a bag. You can taste the powdery residue. Thevegetables all have a stale flavor and you can tell they use some type of boullion cubes or seasoning packets. The service washorrible...we had to ask for utensils, napkins and water all night. The waitress was not attentive at all. She literally stoodat the entrance across from us all night talking to the other staff. The Mariachi band was entertaining for my nephew theyplayed a few Selena songs and some popular regional Mexican songs which I thought was cute. At the end of our meal the waitresscharged us a tip to our bill without our consent(on a table of less than 5). Im not a no tipper, even with the poor service andless than stellar food I would have tipped but she charged the full 20%. Red flag. I didnt make a fuss or complain at allbecause I justified it by convincing myself that the Mariachi band needed to be paid for their time. However I will neverpatronize this establishment again because of the poor service, less than average food and what I felt like were discriminatorypractices. The discriminating factors being not engaging with our table, cook to table time being more than the other patronswho came in after us, lack of eating utensils and napkins. In addition to overall friendliness. Most important of all thewaitress feeling entitled to a tip all while giving less than attentive service. Bandidos, do better. Some of the best chicken fajitas I?ve ever had. Excellent marinade on them. Really good Mango Tajin Blended Margarita. My mother... told me that she loves it here and it?s the best birria tacos she ever had.
