Ultimate old school ski-in-ski-out experience. This is Alta. Casual family vibe. Clean comfy rooms. Plentiful tasty... all-inclusive meals. Highly recommend. Read more

Don?t order the pretzel. It took 20 minutes, and I?d say it was the worst pretzel I?ve ever had? but it wasn?t even a pretzel. ... I?m not sure how pretzels are made, but I?m sure they don?t do it right. Instead of a smooth, golden, almost leathery crustwith a chewy interior, this was literally an overbaked dinner roll in the shape of a pretzel. Read more

We went skiing at Alta this past weekend and ended the day at Goldminer's Daughter's Lodge for some drinks and food. The food... was cold and below average...thankfully the beer couldn't be messed up and was fine. However the bartenders could LITERALLY nothate their job more and trust me it showed on their faces, in their mannerisms, their body language, everything. James Alaskawas not only rude to every single customer I saw/heard order from him, but you could just see it on his face how much he hated,I don't know, his life apparently?? We ordered a pitcher of beer and asked for 4 cups. James gave us the pitcher and no cups sowe asked a second time for 4 cups...he proceeds to ignore us so we just grab 4 coffee cups that are close to the bar. That getsJames's attention and he responds "Don't reach over the bar again," and proceeds to hand us the 4 beer cups we had to ask fortwice. The lounge was a few minutes away from closing and instead of nicely asking me to close out my bar tab, Veronica (anotherbartender who appeared to hate life) stated "We need to close you out. If you don't want to close out, I'll just add 20% tip onthis and leave the card up here." Um....excuse me?! LOL They REALLY know how to get good tips, right? Anyways....I truly dofeel bad they hate their lives or maybe just job as much as they do but I hope the establishment is able to find betteremployees in the future. Best of luck to you guys! As my first time skiing in Utah, I had a great experience overall and no complaints since I was a guest on a trip with friends... and family. However, the member of our party who booked our stay had been here before and expected a similar experience withorder-off-the-menu dinner, and it turned out that dinner was changed to a self-serve buffet with no advertising of the change atall. The tables even still have QR codes that send you to the website with the full dinner menu. We waited about 45 minutesbefore we were instructed by management wait staff that we were supposed to self serve. Additionally, there was a lot ofconfusion and conflicting information about how tipping was supposed to work. It seems like a lot of poor communication anddisorganization on the lodge's part, to me. Otherwise, amazing experience with affordable all-day demo skiing, decentconditions, and generally friendly service. Read more

Drinks were reasonably priced for a ski resort. Place is nice, albeit a bit dated. Service is okay, but not very good.
