Went to Stella's for the first time! I was so excited to try a sandwich. Bought one for my mum to go. Limited time to have a... lunch. Went in and it smelled great and the atmosphere was great. Ordered my food. They were quite busy. They said 20 minutes.That's okay! I had the time. The gentleman behind me ordered a sandwich also. He got his meal before me. Which isfine! Another 5 minutes came up and I went up to the counter to inquire about me meal. They said it's busy so it's taking 25minutes. Which I already waited. The staff member then inquired to the kitchen to ask about my meals. She came back and saidit will take another 25 minutes! They didn't even start my meal yet the guy behind me who I heard order after me got hismeal! They didn't start mine. I have no more time and ended up canceling my order and getting a refund. This was our first time here. We never been to any Stella before and seems like servers were not familiar with someone visiting... the restaurant for the first time. We entered the restaurant and were asked immediately what we want at the front door counter.We ordered from the takeout menu which at the time we didn?t know that is a takeout menu and as soon as we ordered we asked thelady if we can sit in the corner. She did not asked if we want to dine in rather she suggested to sit beside the front door. Weassumed that it was a self service that is why she asked us to wait until the food is ready. She made the coffee and handed itto us and we again asked if we can sit inside. She said yes. However, when we sat inside another server came to take the orderand we told her that we already ordered and will eat inside. Then someone from kitchen came to us to verify if we want the foodinside. Let her know yes and she said next time order inside which was little rude as we told at the beginning that we want toeat inside and were never instructed how to do so. They did not offer a plate for the croissant. After they give us the sandwichwe asked for water and then they served it. The lady who served us the sandwich was super nice though. Too bad I didn?t get hername. Table was not clean. Always heard nice things about stella from Winnipeg people but had a very disappointing visit. Read more
As an pilot, I miss having the Stella?s at the airport, but happy to take the walk to this location when I?m staying in the... city. A nice cozy vibe in a lively location in Winnipeg. Friendly service and bottomless coffee compliments this eccentric butinteresting menu with a very unique Salmon Eggs Benedict on the list. Hard not to return here for brunch every time! Read more
