Sushi Taku is a small, Japanese run neighbourhood sushi spot. The inside is small with 5 tables (15 seats). Lots of takeout... orders. Service is friendly. Bento boxes are only available weekdays (11:30am to 2:30pm). Note: they close for a break between2:30pm to 3:00pm. Trip #1 - Ebi sunomono ($5.25) - Chicken karage ($7.95) - takes ~10 minutes to prepare but worth the wait. -Beef yaki soba ($12.25) - Mango mango roll ($10.50) - Salmon sashimi ($14.50 for 8) - good portion size, especially for theprice. - Negitoro roll ($4.75) - Spicy chopped scallop roll ($5.75) - California roll ($4.50) Trip #2 - Scallop tataki roll($11.25) - Negitoro roll ($4.75) - tuna and green onions are oddly not mixed together. - Oshinko roll ($3.25) - lacked a crunchytexture, no pickled taste. - Deluxe assorted sashimi ($28.95 for 22) - best pieces were the saba and toro. I liked the regularsalmon (fattier, better bite) over the sockeye salmon. They have a nice, diverse menu and their sushi quality is quite good. Their service has been prompt and efficient for the... majority of the time. I usually grab take out and the order has always been ready at the pickup time. I wish they had onlineordering as well to save time when in a rush, although I haven't had to wait when I've called them yet. Sushi is fresh andflavourful. It may not be the cheapest but you can see the quality of ingredients so this place is a nice change from othersushi places which may be more budget friendly but lack a bit on the quality column. Its small store, you might not even notice it, if you look somewhere fancy have great decoration, you should look other place,... but I am more into the food itself. Because It's small so limited tables, but only wait for 20 minutes, they are fast! Afterorder not even 5 minutes all dishes served, everything delicious, and the price is unbelievable. If you live close by suggesttake out, but i enjoy eating here as well. Sashimi great quality, shrimp tempura hot and sweet. Wish they have good businessforever. Read more
Used to order party trays and special rolls multiple times from here, and this was my first time ordering sashimi...and it was... so good! Ordered assorted sashimi, nigiri combo and alaska roll for takeout, and they were very fresh and delicious! This placenever disappoints!???? Read more

There are very few people and the food was served fast but they did not follow my instructions. I asked for dragon roll (prawn... tempera inside, unagi and avocado on top) but instead of prawn tempera if I could have just avocado. So basically an avocadoroll with extra avocado and unagi on top. They were hesitant but said OK, but they didn?t do it. I was served with Californiaroll with only eel on top. I hate California roll. I don?t care about money. If you tell me it costs 20$ extra to substitutetempera to avocado I will pay for it. I want quality and accuracy. I am absolutely willing to pay more for an avocado roll witheel and avocado on top (both avocado inside and on top). I was very unsatisfied with this meal. I will greatly appreciate it ifyou reply to this review. Then I will delete it. Read more
