During a visit to the farm by Allan?s mother, they baked pies together with the organic heritage apples thathad fallen from trees in the orchard. This simple activity sparked an idea that would soon become a successful business, andeventually grow into a community of people committed to sustainable, local, organic products. ?Aphrodites was founded in 2003and has 2 shops including a restaurant and a pie shop across each other at 4th & Dunbar. ??????? My wife and I had lunch today here. I ordered the green egg & ham, my wife ordered the ham & egger. The food came and it was... lovely, everything was going fine at first. The food, as always, tasted good. Mid way through our meal, I found a staple in myegg omelet. I immediately let our server know. She apologized and offered to waive that item from our bill. The kitchen alsore-made my egg omelet for me. The situation was resolved, and I was happy to resume my meal. When we finished our meal, ourserver brought over the bill and we found out that instead of waiving the item from our bill, they were giving us 10% offinstead. I felt surprised but said nothing, my wife paid the bill and we left. We were confused and disappointed since therewas clearly a communication issue here. Nothing special and a very basic cafe. Their apple pie was very disappointing. Definitely not worth the price for such a small... portion and something I?d be able to get at a supermarket for a cheaper price, bigger size and same taste. Read more
