My employer regularly has team building excursions. PICA was one of the best I experienced. Although this post may be a little... stale (should have been done December 2018), I believe the many reviews of experiences and culture of PICA shows to be positive- no matter if you're enrolled in a program, or visiting. This was a part of our Christmas party, and we did the mysteryingredient challenge. Four teams. PICA was incredibly professional with the challenge offered to us, and we had an A++ dinnerafterwards, served by their professional kitchen. Even though it's a culinary school, and the students are learning their craft,I was amazed by the quality and consistency of the food. The cafe on the 1st floor is pretty cool. Lots of creative, andwonderfully presented portions. My only suggestion is to clearly mark entrances for the different services in the building. Wepaced the outside looking for which door we were supposed to enter.. Read more

It's really difficult to decide what to start with... I'm a one year program alumni from PICA and I can say that it was probably... the best year in my life. Before attending to Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts I did a massive research about culinary schoolsin BC and Canada overall. What actually catched my attention is that in PICA students get 90% of practice and lots of experiencefrom working in a kitchen. After completing the full program, I'm able to say that if you will attend it, the staff of PICA willinvest lots of time and efforts in your educational process. Instructors are professional Chefs from all around the world whohave enough experience, passion, knowledge and lots of humor to make the time which you will spend there unforgettable. Finally, this school has a really good reputation between chefs in Canada that makes the process with searching for a job aftergraduation much easier. In general, I would put 6 out of 5 if it would be possible! Thanks PICA for everything! It is a pleasureto be a part of this school! Read more

It is the third time I visit this restaurant and I thought that these guys were worth a review. Besides the good quality... ingredients, presentation and truly flavorful dishes, the wine pairing they offer is fantastic. Furthermore, how they explain toyou why they pair it that way, is just blow-minding. Thanks to Fernando for a great service and for making us laugh. Keep thegood work! Read more

Best year of my life. PICA treats you like family from your first day on. Everyone there is extremely nice and makes sure that... you are learning everything you need and want. The skills and experience that you gain is unmatched whether it's in pastry orculinary because every instructor has something new to teach you. The 90% hands on was something that really appealed to mebecause I am not someone that likes to sit in a classroom for hours and look at PowerPoints. The small class size makes it easyfor everyone to get to know each other and by the end of the program you are a strong team of Cooks and friends, I know I metsome of my best friends there. I looked at other culinary schools before PICA and once I went for my interview and met with theadmin I knew that was where I needed to go to school. The knowledge that provided me with set me up for success and the industryand they went as far as helping me as job references and by checking in on where my search was at and recommending the bestenvironments for me to work in. PICA will always be a second home for me and I'll always make it a point to stop in and have ameal or something from the bakery! Read more
