Came across this place while walking down the street and could not stop ourselves from entering. A vada pav, a chaar sampler and... cutting chai is all you need to validate the Mumbai ness of this quaint eatery. The food was authentic and the music reminiscentof college days… thoroughly enjoyed Mumbai Local and am fairly certain I’ll be back Read more

Went first time with family for dinner. We had For starters: - CHAAT SAMPLER. It was nice and delicious, the only downside was... the spicy water wasn’t made in restaurant, it felt more like togo mix that was put in water and served. For dinner, we had 1.Lacha Parantha: 2/5 because it was not properly cooked. Attached picture 2. Masala Papad: - 1/5 it was super soggy with thesalsa. And it was also very hard to believe a simple papad was $4.5. 3. CHICKEN AMRITSARI: - 2/5. Chicken was fresh and wellcooked, on the other hand the sauce wasn’t cooked. 4. CHICKEN HANDI: - 2/5. Same as chicken amritsari. Overall service wasnice, staff was friendly. Cooking and food flavors were not upto mark. Also the place is bit pricey than expected. Read more

Dahi Puri is to die for! Haven’t had this good dahi puri in North America!! Vada pav was also good.. Misal is good but lil on... oily side. Although I'm blown away by the fact that this place serves Misal! I’m definitely visiting again and having pavbhaji and bhel next time. Also the song selection is BRILLIANT???????????? Read more

I think this place has the foundation to be something special. They just miss the mark on a few things but important things. ... The difference between an amazing restaurant and one that's pretty good. This is a Indian street food restaurant. Street foodflavors should be over the top and in your face. The wings were good but a bit dry. The khichdi had no salt. The bhel puriwould have been so much better if it wad crispy. The soya chaap was a bit bland. The best thing was the pav bhaji which waswonderful. Everything tasted decent but could have been so much better. Read more

In authenticity emerges the story - We went quite unassumingly into the dainty corners of Davie. This area is filled with Indian... restaurants promising you *unabashedly* the flavors of the sub-continent but ending up delivering short. Bombay local pulledthe evergreen trick of sticking to what it knows best and just consistently transporting us to our sweet-savory-salivating daysin Mumbai. Starting from excellent suggestions and a suave ownership laden service from Kabir, we thoroughly enjoyed the chickenlollipop, a dish that is hard to construct given the evolutions it has been within the south indo chinese /(or chinjabi)cuisine. The crispy coating (and chutney) had that signature rustic but not overpowering umami flavor, with the fresh and juicychicken tenders delicately attached to their bones. With their weekend specials in play we also got the pleasure of taskingtheir chicken manchurian done closest to chinjabi expectations. The crispy vada in the vada-pav packed the flavor punches withthe chewy bun texture most places don’t even consider. The bhaji in the pav bhaji (and masala pav) teleported us to ourfavorite roadside stalls thickly butter creamed and mashed to perfection. We also order masala colas that packed the traditionaljal jeera digestive allowing us to go further exploring - resetting the palate with each sip. Oh then how could we not thinkdaily about the bombay chilli cheese breads toasted to perfection done in with a stuffing you can only call an indo-italianmarriage? This is what being bilingual would taste like! Given all this, the icing on the cake was the house made kesar malaikulfi gently peppered with rose petals and pistachios that couldn’t have been replaced with any other sweet of the samecaliber. There are no places we’re aware of in downtown that can package all of this authenticity into a 45 minute dine-instory. We’re certain you’d feel the same. Read more
