The 42 Oz US Prime Steak was unbelievable! The rest of the food was also very tasty. Service was excellent !! House of Chan was... packed with people and now I know why. For sure we will return. Highly recommend. Read more

When I go out to eat my reviews are based on cost to quality. High cost, low quality is very bad while low cost to high quality... is very good. Now to House of Chan and what I liked: service was great, decor awesome. What I did not like on the night Iattended: my food was very disappointing (lemon chicken). Maybe i should have tried something else. Other comments: Price was atouch high for the portion of food received. Overall, I will probably not return to this restaurant. Read more

One of my favourite restaurants in Toronto! My family and I have been going for years. I recommend the butterfly shrimp and a... steak (all of them are great). The service is also amazing and all the staff are extremely kind and attentive. I look forward tocoming back. Read more

Quite disappointed with the quality of the food. I feel like the situation could have been handled better as someone with... foodservice experience. My friend, from out of town searched up the reviews and got really excited to try out this food and wewere left very disappointed. The rice was hard and tasted old despite being told otherwise. And the portion in relation to thecost was a little outrageous to me. Instead of rectifying the situation, I was dismissed on the phone. Weird, to me in acustomer service sense as they lost two potential reoccurring customers. Aside from the food, they were friendly... so shrugs Iguess. The food is still edible but I could have gotten the same meal with an Uncle Beans box of rice, a frozen bag of chicken, and a bag of frozen peas cause that's what the food was giving. Attached is a picture of my takeout. Excuse the mess but Idon't think this is worth 40+ dollars. Especially when it's subpar. Read more

The House of Chan is probably one of the best steakhouses in Toronto yet is simultaneously one of the best Chinese restaurants... in Toronto. It is definitely worth a visit. No reservations though! The first thing you're thinking when you see thisrestaurant is "what cuisine is this? Is this Chinese food or a steakhouse or some fusion stuff?" The answer is that the House ofChan is both. This family-run place serves amazing steaks much like any other upscale steakhouse (pricy!) as far as I can tell.It also serves extraordinary Chinese food that you can get with or instead of the steaks. It's a great restaurant to go withvegetarians for this reason. In terms of my actual enjoyment of the food, I got the prime rib steak with a side of potatoes and(fried?) onions. The steak was one of the best steaks I've ever had and the potatoes were also very good. I'll let the photos ofthe other food speak for themselves since I didn't eat all of those, but according to the people I was with the food was alsogreat. The service was also terrific, and I constantly was getting refills whenever I needed more water or whatever else. Greatstaff. The reason why this place doesn't have many reviews on Google Maps already is because it has a primarily older customerbase. This isn't that surprising given that the restaurant looks like it's from a 50s movie, is somewhat dark, and has a bar.But hey, it's got amazing food and I'm not going to give it a 4 because the decor isn't trendy. The people who run the House ofChan have been here for decades and know what they have. This place was packed on the Tuesday night where we went there for areason. Go here if you want to eat at one of the last authentic Toronto restaurants and don't mind paying $60 for a really goodsteak (the Chinese food is cheaper). Read more
