I?m puzzled by the low rating of this restaurant since among the downtown Toronto Chinatown restaurants, I would say New Ho King... is one of the most consistent when it comes to food quality/quantity and pricing. We?ve been coming to this restaurant forover 20 years and the food we normally ordered still taste the same - flavourful, and servings are generous compared to otherChinatown restaurants. Everyone in this restaurant are very pleasant from the Manager (guy) to the servers and always say hiand thank you to customers. Not even once did we experienced rude service. This is also one of the few restaurants in Torontothat rewards cash discounting to customers - offers 10% off your bill if you pay cash. One time, they got 1 of our order wrongand was given automatically a discount in our bill without even asking for it. We?re a fan of their Ho King Special SizzlingChili Chicken in Hot Pot (bone-in). Crispy and flavourful is how to best describe this dish. Tender marinated chicken frieduntil crispy with lots of spring onions makes this a delightful dish and something that you want to eat over and overagain. Another fave is their Deep Fried Calamari with Spicy Salt. Squids are perfectly coated in a well-seasoned batter andflavoured with spice mixture. Very addictive and pairs well with rice/fried rice. I could go on and on about how wonderfultheir food is but if you haven?t tried this place maybe you should give it a chance if ever you?re in the Chinatown area. Bonuspoint - they?re open late or until the wee hours so good for late Chinese cravings. Read more

Have ordered takeaway twice and happy with the dishes so far. The mixed meat fried rice and chowmein were really good value for... money, not too greasy. Pricing is really good for the portion size as well Read more

I love coming here for comfort food. After a night of whatever you do at night this spot hits the spot. We shared orange duck,... sweet + sour chicken, baby bok choy, beef with eggplant and chicken fried rice. Food portions are generous and taste is prettyconsistent. I hadn?t been here in a while so I didn?t know what to expect. Overall it was exactly what I remember. Not the mosthospitable people but, good food. Note: Late night menu is the best menu. ; ) Read more

1. Super rude service 2. Orders are small and overcooked. My chicken was mostly breading I couldn?t even find meat in half of... the plate. They just served us deep fried dough. Definitely better places in a neighborhood. Will never come back again Read more

We were at the restaurant & Place take out order as wanted to try Chinatown food for authentic Chinese cuisine. We ordered... Chilly Chicken as its was their specially along with rice and chow mein, the food was bit costlier then other places. Afterfirst bite of chilly chicken we felt it was NOT fresh and in all pieces you can see the threads (pics added with post), afterpaying high prices you atleast expect fresh chicken in your signature dish. Also the rice was regular quality you can get in anyrestaurant. Chow mein was bit better but had too much egg yok in it.. Very disappointed !!! NEVER visiting this place again. They should be HONEST with quality of what they serve. STAY AWAY from this place, there are other better restaurant at few stepsaway, serves better quality food at LOW prices, check review before you VISIT ANY restaurant in CHINATOWN. Read more
