We love good steakhouses and date places and were pretty underwhelmed by this one. We wanted to see if hys had been renewed by a... big renovation and new location but it's so much of the old transplanted to the new location. Very average at best food for anastounding price. We don't mind splurging on food when it comes with flavour and quality. We were left with underwhelming foodthat left a lot more to be desired. The service here was wonderful and we don't want to overlook that but let's call this whatit is - a traditional downtown steakhouse dominated by men using business expense accounts. Went here for a celebration, was very pleased. The variety in the menu, ambience, and quality service are all present here at... Hy's. The wellington, filet and lobster were all cooked perfectly, and the flavours all worked together to create wonderfuldishes. All of this did come at a steep price but it is worth as a once in a while fine dining experience! Read more

Great all around experience. The space itself is beautiful with high ceilings and natural light. The service was a top notch.... For me, I haven’t eaten at a lot of high end steak houses. But I have eaten a lot of steaks.. and t his was probably the bestI ever had. Had the 14oz NY and it was perfectly cooked and full of great flavour! First experience to try Beef Wellington. The beef is very nice, melting in your mouth. Worth the price. Service is excellent. He... always checked on us.
