Very cute shop with small chairs for toddlers, the kids like the Kawartha ice cream. However, it is quite pricey which I could... deal with - however, I do not agree with the quite large fee of an additional $0.50 to use debit. I just can't get behind this.Surcharging so high at the till will alienate customers, and is not the customers responsibility IMO. I have been charged smallfees at convenience stores of $0.10 - sometimes (more rarely) $0.25, but $0.50 fee per transaction in order for ME to give youMY money for ice cream which is already on a high mark up is just pushing it. I truly wonder if the owner is actually makingmoney off these surcharges, particularly given they are open in the winter now too. Would be more than happy to be proven wrongand have this high fee justified, as otherwise it is a cute shop and the ice cream is quality brand. Read more

Such a lovely spot for some ice cream on a hot sunny day. I was amazed with the amount of flavours available. I had the rum and... raisin and it was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try the other flavours! Read more

My family loves coming to Carter?s, and when we have visitors we always head over for a little treat. The ice cream is on the... high end, but we don?t mind because we like to support local. We usually have great service when we are served by the youngerstaff, unfortunately today we were served by a woman with dark hair who was not as patient. My kids and I were waiting, and mytoddler was yelling and becoming impatient. The woman who served us felt comfortable enough to try and correct him not to scream?we don?t scream?. My child can?t speak(he?s non verbal), so this is his way of communicating frustration. It is not your placeto correct other peoples childrens? behaviour, especially if they aren?t causing harm to anyone. You don?t know if children areneurodivergent, and I hope that you can move forward with this in mind. If you can?t be tolerant to kids and all kinds ofbehaviours, then you?re catering to the wrong clientele. Unfortunately i do not feel welcomed to come back. Read more
