I tried chicken satay bao and big bird bao. The food was good but tiny portion size. May be that?s what they charge for. Their... bao is really very good especially the buns. Their satay chicken was a good sweet and the big bird was a good spice. The food isvery flavourful. Read more

This place was not bad! I enjoyed the nasi lemak w satay chicken. Esp the coconut rice. The portions of the condiments are abit... small, but since this is not singapore? ill let it go. Interesting choice to serve all the food in cardboard boxes? Not surewhy they couldnt just get regular plates/cutlery for dine in. Read more

First time went there for Nasi Lemak hoping for a quick lunch, I was told it would take 25 mins, and so I went elsewhere. Second... time, I learnt my lesson, and went for online order instead. And on Makan's website, it says "preorders require minimum 1-hournotice", which I happily obliged, and received an email afterwards saying my order is being processed. An hour later, surprisesurprise, the staff aren't even aware of the online order, and I still ended up having to wait for 20-25 minutes. So what isthe point of online preorders? As for the dish itself, it's pretty much just a tiny scoop of Sambal (that is not spicy at all),with over-seasoned, way-too-salty fried chicken. With this quality, to say the dish is overpriced is an understatement. In fact, the more I think about it, the more angry I am. So here is something that I probably shouldn't say in a review since that makesme sound like I am advertising for its competitors. If you want Nasi Lemak and don't want to travel too far, just walk west todragon city mall in chinatown. They are serving Nasi Lemak that tastes more authentic, more presentable, with a reasonable pricetag and even comes with a soup and a drink. And most importantly, you won't walk away feeling angered and insulted like I waswith Makan. Makan, if you don't want to serve your customers with Nasi Lemak, just don't do it. Waiting for over an hour forsomething like this is unacceptable (Btw, I was ordering for doubling the portion of chicken in the picture below. The regularversion does not look like that) Read more

Had the tofu (filet not fish) and it was great! Everything fit well together with the veggies, rice, fried egg and fried tofu.... They also had great desserts too that I'll get for next time. Read more

The Nasi Lemak (with Ayam Goreng) is good, no where near true Singapore/Malaysian standards but for a downtown Toronto location... it?s good enough. Sambal is lacking, I suppose to appease the western palate. Service isn?t great, staff aren?t particularlyfriendly but it?s not a big issue. Will return for sure. Read more
