I live above Barnsteiners. I feel like my husband and I have been extremely kind and supportive to the restaurant throughout the... pandemic and beyond . The kindness was not returned. Small example- we went to have oysters tonight. The owner was about to turnus away. Because they were ‘too busy’ for take out. It was 5:30 And the restaurant was empty. Absolutely fantastic experience. We started our evening off at another restaurant and after having appetizers and a first round... of drinks we decided it wasn’t for us. Coming to this place we felt right at home from walking in. The ambience is absolutelydelightful, The drinks provided and mixed by Catherine were sumptuous and the food was absolutely to die for. We had the shortrib platter which was described as being vacuum sealed and prepared to order. Donovan our server was a gem he was truly down toearth and very approachable and truly took the time to explain to us the culinary experience we were about to have and hisguidance was appreciated. The Wiener Schnitzel was soo delicious! I highly recommend it. My only complaint was the service. There moments were our table... was without any water. The restaurant was very packed and that oversight is understandable. Also, my friend and informed theserver about her peanut allergy and was assured that there wasn’t any peanuts in the dish. Fabulous restaurant with a great ambiance. We were seated on a high top because we walked in without a reservation. Expect the... place to be pretty packed on weekend dinners. They have an open kitchen so it smells amazing as the cooks do their thing andit’s visually appealing as the food is being prepared. No loud music but only through people chattering does the room getfilled with busyness. Their strength seems to be on the seafood side of things and they do a real good job at it.
