Have been to almost all the Asian Legend locations. If you are looking for good Chinese/Taiwanese food this chain of restaurants... is a good choice. These dishes are from the Hwy 7 location in Richmond Hill. We ordered: Hot and sour soup (myfavourite). Soup filled dumplings (it is better to eat this in store up I had a real craving and didn?t feel like eating out soI settled for take out) Pan fried dumplings (always delish) Deep fried tofu. Again, better in the restaurant. The sauce ispacked in a separate container for take out orders which is appreciated so the tofu doesn?t get too soggy and you can add aslittle or as much as you want. Happy Friday everyone. And I must remember to charge my iphone before heading out ...LOL !!! My phone ran out of juice before... the first dishes came out. Sorry for the lack of food pics today. But I came today with a group of 7 for lunch. We ordered aton of different dishes to taste the wide range of flavours that they offered. We ordered the standard cold dishes like beefshank, dark soya tofu and shredded jellyfish. All were quite tasty, although I would the beef shank to not have the extra sauceon top because it made altered its taste by making it a tad too salty. The standard Xiao long bao were all very good. We triedthe ones with soup and the some with less soup. All were very tasty. We also tried the clay pot stew. That was very enjoyablewith the chicken and the broth. I was not overly impressed with the rice cake dish, it was too soggy for my taste. But I wouldorder it again because the flavours were bang on. The Dan Dan noodles were a hit with my party. The noodles were excellent andthe sauce paired very well. The wonton noodle soup was excellent. They really know how to do their dumplings at this location.From the wontons to the pan fried dumplings etc. All wonderful, fresh and tasty. The service was extremely friendly andhelpful. My first time dining in at Asian Legend and I must say I?m very impressed with the quality of the dishes! Everything I ordered... was super fresh and flavorful. You can taste the umami wok essence every time you take a bite I ordered the lunch sizedsautéed eggplant as well as the kung pao chicken / beef pancake roll / dan dan peanut noodles / pan fried steam bun / & soupdumplings. The lunch size was actually very filling for the price, each lunch special comes with rice and this refreshingcucumber side dish on the side. The eggplant was so special to me because the eggplant was soft on the inside yet the outsidewas nice and crisp. I really have to give credit to the talent of the chef! The eggplant had this sweet yet spicy sauce workedreally well with the dish. For the kung pao chicken, the chicken were perfect bite sized pieces with peppers and onions andpeanuts. The chicken is tender and crisp, works well with the chill oil essence and rice. The beef pancake was really nice!I?ve never ordered this before and it was like a doughy, flaky scallion pancake with layers of beef inside with some saucethat?s similar to hoisin/peking duck sauce. Really nice as an appetizer. The dan dan peanut noodles had some fluffy egg,cucumbers, carrots, and chicken and it was such a refreshing dish! I would highly recommend. For me, the noodles are what makeit so special. With a perfect texture and chew, the noodles with the peanut sauce were to die for.
