Four of us visit The Rooms, one adult and 3 kids, two of the kids are age nine and the other is three. They all run up the... stairs to the entrance door and ask, ? can we go through the spinney doors? Yes, let?s go! When we get inside, we were greetedby security and then we proceeded to the front counter to get our passes and a map of the building. It cost $2 for parking and$20 for admission. We were given four passes/pins to place on our coats, to show we have an access pass to the security in thebuilding when accessing different areas. The room has four levels. Level one hoast the admission desk, elevator, washroom, and gift shop you can visit the gift shop on your way out, after exploring. Read more

Highly recommend going to this place if you are interested in history and art. They have an excellent restaurant there as well... (the clam chowder in particular was quite delicious). It has everything pertaining to Newfoundland's surrounding areas andnatural history. Their art gallery was positively exceptional as they show cased artists original works (NOT PRINTS!)specifically from Newfoundland along with stories of their lives. We came during the off season so it wasn't busy and it feltlike we were the only ones there which made it even better because we didn't feel rushed. Only downside is that I wish the giftshop had more prints available for purchase of the art pieces they show case. Read more

Wow, just Wow. Wish I had more time for a proper go through. The two hours of just getting a feel for the place was perfect -... if I had another day to follow it with. Such diverse arts, history, creativity. Knowledgeable staff and I was joined byvisitors of all ages and nationalities. Learning, expressing, enjoying. The tribute to the fallen Newfoundlanders July 1, 1916(and other battles) was very moving. And so many Irish. What a journey. Read more
