Take photos of room upon check in. Stayed in one of the guest rooms which had damage to a wall heater. Was charged $335 for... damage that was done prior to our stay. Luckily took a picture of the room which showed damage already there. Asked the managerto be mindful in the future since they were so quick to blame us for the damage and charge me for it. 5 stars went to one stardue to the defensive response. Read more

Stayed at Jags for 2 night. Found the room and bathroom very clean and well kept. Minimal road noise at night even though your... off the main road. Great views out front. Would recommend and stay again. Read more
Stayed at Jag?s over the Canada Day long weekend. While the room was clean, location was scenic, finding food turned out to be... an issue. I wish I was better prepared, but there isn?t much information on Haida Gwaii in general and the restaurants don?tnecessarily have accurate open/close times online so it was hard to know. I arrived on Friday, July 1 at 5pm via airport shuttleand didn?t have my own car. Found out the coffee shop on property was closed, nearest restaurant was 1.5 hr walk and no onedelivers. Difficult to get a taxi, I managed to call the shuttle driver back and she drove me to Daajing Giids for food. Thecoffee shop was closed all weekend as well, so again, no food or coffee in this area on Saturday. I asked if they could provideme with a cup of coffee at 6am (I had a tour pickup at 6:15am), but they said it was too early, which was understandable Iguess. On Sunday morning I asked for a cup of coffee at 10am and was told the coffee machine was already shut down for the dayand I could walk 15-min to the grocery store to get coffee - I did but the grocery store had no cups to even sell the coffee, sothat was a waste of time. There was no kettle in the room either. I checked out at 12pm that day and went to another lodging andwas finally able to get lunch there. I did go back to Jag?s coffee shop another day when I had a car and the egg bagel wasdelicious. However, the beans/rice with eggs were cold and tasted like they were heated up from frozen. My experience with thisplace was hit and miss, hence the 3-stars. The owner was very friendly otherwise, I just didn?t find them to be accommodating tothe food/coffee situation. Read more

UPDATE Sep 2022 - Spectacularly tasty and filling breakfast bowl with lots of chorizo. Friendly and super knowledgeable staff.... Really had such a lovely breakfast here today. Also took two pumpkin muffins to go. When my partner and I split one thisafternoon it was one of those moments where I knew I would need to go back for another! Moist, large, great crumble topping withsome icing, but not too much. Just had the best orange cranberry scone I think I have ever tasted! Read more
