Alight. The time it took to eat the 5 course meal was insanely too long. We were told there would be a lot of food, but still... left wondering where the rest was. The apps were good and unique, however the main course was somewhat off. The pork was mainlyfat, and not pleasant to eat. Ambience was pleasant, but the food/wine and service left much to be desired. I've been serving for 15 years and enjoy wine... regularly myself; the house wine my friend ordered was very acidic and vinegary. We flagged down an employee to let them knowthe wine was "off", and our server returned with the same glass of wine, stating that she'd tried the bottle when she firstopened it, and the wine tasted exactly as it should. Our option was to drink it or dump it, but we would be paying for itregardless. *cue dumbfounded look on both our faces*. When others might have walked out, we decided to stick it out and orderfood and replace the unpleasant wine with a cocktail. My cocktail and the replacement cocktail were both good. We let our serverknow that the new cocktail was much better than the initial glass of house wine, to which she responded that "five sommeliersare employed there and have all enjoyed that wine for years" so she wasn't sure what our issue with it was. Fritters arrivedthe same colour as the black cast-iron skillet they were served in, but I scraped off the burnt outside and enjoyed the rest.The lamb meatballs were not ground finely, and sinewy bits distracted from their overall flavour. The mushrooms weredelicious. I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable and borderline unwanted in a restaurant before. I wish I'd had cashto leave on the table and avoid interacting further with any staff. Hard pass on returning any time soon. Read more
