Went to use our Anniversary gift/coupon from the JRG Rewards Program. Live band was great and got people up and dancing. New... daily specials. Late night happy hour menu for food and drinks after 9pm still available. Service was great. Our dessert StckyToffee Pudding topped with ice cream was delicious. I hate to write this review, as the Buck & Ear used to be our go to pub in Steveston. They have great food and an extensive tap... list, with a selection of fun cocktails and even a great variety of non-alcoholic beverage options too! We even love theatmosphere of the pub. However, over the last few months the service at this pub has taken a nose dive. We have tried to givethem the benefit of the doubt, I know there is a service staff shortage right now. However, that doesn't excuse poor servicefrom servers who have been working there for months, especially when the pub is mostly empty. Every time we have gone in overthe last three months we have been forgotten about for at least 30 minutes before someone would notice we had empty pintglasses. We would look to see if we could flag a server down, but they were no where to be seen! Sometimes we would go in andsit down and wait for 20 minutes and still no server would notice we were there. We would have to get up and leave and go toanother pub. Do all the servers take their smoke breaks at the exact same time? I'm sorry Buck & Ear, but there is a reasonGoodCo had a 2 hour lineup this weekend and your pub was practically empty. Train your servers better. You are going to loseyour regulars (this one included) to other local pubs. Sorry, I'm just not willing to wait 25 minutes to place a drink orderthan an hour between beers every time I visit. Hey all, was in last night for a quick dessert as we had dinner elsewhere. Riley is not only very pleasant but is a pretty rad... human, thanks for the great service and amazing dessert suggestion!!!! Tonya the manager leads a great team here, thanksagain!! Vintage warm and eclectic atmosphere. Beautiful dark wood moldings and that nostalgic squeeky wood floors we all miss. Food is... good, and the service was great. Will be back to check out the live music. Read more
