Menu for Bread & Roses Bakery in Ottawa, ON

The young woman who served us Saturday mid-day was quite nice and helpful. We bought a curry chicken pie (frozen) and four... tarts (two lemon, two butter tarts). The tarts were tried by four in our family (who were all excited to try them). All foundthem absolutely devoid of flavour. They were, essentially, just chewy blobs of pastry, with no sweetness at all. We won't beback. Bought 12 cookies definitely not the cookies I used to buy!! they are dry and wrapped up individually the buttery rich ... peanut butter ones which were are favorite were hard! Read more

I used to love going into this bakery until lately I am not sure what has happened but the quality has really gone down to a... minimum. We ordered 2 pieces of cake and they were beyond dry!! Also, this bakery is so hot without a/c and being in the therefor only 5 minutes tops I was soaked in sweat. Please do something to change this for your employee's who seem so uncomfortable. My personal experience, I went there yesterday for the first time. The employee seem like I was bothering him by being there. I... bought a Marie Antoinette cake and it was so dry and stale. I also got the cheesecake brownie and the cheesecake square. It wasso sweet with no cream cheese flavour just overly sweet. Also it?s so overpriced for what you get. Sorry Bread and Roses, dobetter ! Fantastic bakery with friendly service. Picked up an apple and cinnamon crumble pie for Father's Day that I ordered the day... before. It was ready when I needed it for and still nice and warm. Need to go back and try some of their delicious lookingbreads! Read more
