I rarely dine in at Wendy's, but I happened to tonight and the gentleman working the cash here really impresses me. He takes... care of the customers, it's not even very busy but he's been wiping down tables and making sure orders go out accurately and ontime. I don't think he's the manager. I'm amazed as you just don't see this level of service in fast food restaurants (orcustomer service in general) anymore. This guy is going places. Congrats, Wendy's, you scored a great employee. Filthy dirty counter by the cash and all the tables looked sticky with food and smears. Sticky floors. Bathroom? I have been in... porta-potties that are cleaner and smell better. The trash container outside by the entrance reeks of old rotting food. Howappetizing. there is a difference between a place that has been so busy that it was hard to keep up with cleaning and a placethat is neglected. This was pure neglect. I worked in restaurants long enough to know the difference. Very bad/nervousatmosphere too. Employees either looked scared or angry. Not a hello or even a word was said at the cash. Just a blank look oncein my direction. While waiting, someone was complaining about their order and a woman that I assume was a supervisor or managerwas speaking to this person in a loud and condescending manner. Awful really. I live over an hour from Ottawa. On Oct 29 I bought 3 Apple Pecan salads to take out. Got home, partner dug in and ate his. Son... got 1/2 way through his and almost put what he found in his mouth (see pic). I had not taken a bite of my salad. Tried callingstore, no answer. Returned to the restaurant on the 31st with the one uneaten salad, the 1/2 eaten salad and the emptycontainer for the one that my partner ate only to be told they could only refund 2 of them and not the one that was eaten. Iasked for the supervisor. That was a mistake. I explained the situation and showed her the thing in the one salad. She told meshe could only refund 2 salads but not the eaten one. I repeated how my partner was gagging off and on all evening because ofthe thought of having eaten from the same batch as that thing. She still said no after I tried to reason with her. She thenstarted saying that she really didn't have to do anything at all for me but would still be willing to refund 2 of them. Myirritation got the better of me and I said 'Are you (insert bad word) kidding me?' and repeated again that my partner wasgagging all evening and that my son almost ate that thing. She said that I could not use that language and I immediatelyapologized. (I agree that I should not have used such language). Seeing as other people were paying attention she then repeatedthat multiple times for no reason and each time I said I apologize. 6 times. She then kept saying can I speak now? Can I speaknow? Yet I was not stopping her from speaking. Each time I said 'go ahead' and she would continue with 'Can I speak now?' I amquite sure she was doing this to try and make the onlookers think I was not letting her speak. I decided I would take my saladsand go. Slow. Ordered and paid on app for a frosty. I get there the machine was being cleaned I had to take a soft drink. I ask for... bbq sauce there out. Next time I go very slow I wait 40 min in the drive thru and when I get to the window the girls like "didyou buy something?" Like no?!
