Menu for Ishina Distinguished Indian Cuisine Inc in Nepean, ON

We went there after reading reviews. Tried mixed veg, Makhani Paneer, Dal makhni and Chpatis. (1) Mixed veg: Frozen cut... vegetables bought from Walmart. Boiled and added salt/garam masala only. Bakwas taste. (2) Makhani Paneer: 5-6 small size piecesin sour gravy. No taste. (3) Daal Makhani: no where it is clos to Indian daal makhani. (4) Chapati's waere eatable only. Weread reviews and went there with lots of expectations. I think all 4/5 star reviews are paid or fake. Found tasteless food andmy family did not like the taste. Owner should not cheat Indians like this. Not recommended to anyone. Please cook food at home,or go to any other restaurant in town. Read more

25 minutes is a long wait. We ordered saag paneer, butter chicken and chick pea curry. I love saag paneer the best, chick pea... curry was also good (has a nice aroma but lack of acidity for my taste) . However, butter chicken was just ok. Ishina might be a bit of a hidden treasure but the food is just too good - have to share. We had takeout last weekend and it was... spectacular. The vegetarian dinner for three would probably have fed 5 generously. The lentil dish and the cauliflower (a wholedelicious cauliflower!) were favourites but everything was truly special- even the rice was way beyond plain rice. I?n stillthinking about all the flavours. We?ve enjoyed the buffet lunches at Ishina for years and I was so happy when I realized theirfood is available to take home, all beautifully packaged and organized and as delicious as ever. My daughter and I ordered the Diwali non-vegetarian feast for two. Every dish was delicious and so well prepared. There was so... much food we were able to get two fabulous dinners and a substantial lunch out of it. From appetizer to dessert, each dish wasmade with love. There was even a Diwali gift of light (tea lights), sweets (chocolates) and coasters for our mango lassi.Although we miss the lunch time buffet, Ishina has really come through with their take out. Exceptional Indian cuisine with an amazing variety of choice. For me, the closest that Indian food in Ottawa has come to what I... grew up enjoying in India. The weekly specials at Ishina, Rajasthani food, Kashmiri food, Punjabi Thali, Dosa special, theNaanza, the Indian style Tacos, the Makhni Paneer rice bowl, have been over staple during Covid-19 and we could not be happierconsidering the amazing quality, their commitment to health protocols and their awesome customer service.
