The ribs and most of their food tasted kind of like plain BBQ sauce, I was expecting a different BBQ taste than the normal one... that I can make on the grill. The ribs was not falling off the bone but more like stayed on the bones. The mac and cheese isgreat the next day but not the day it’s made because the seasoning didn’t soak through everything. This place had been highly recommended for its fried chicken. Though the chicken is moist and the breading is perfectly crispy,... I wish there was a bit less seasoning on it. The gravy had way too much clove in it for my liking, it overpowered any otherflavour. The cornbread and ribs were fantastic! Their homemade cornbread sauce and bbq sauce are great. The salad is abeautiful fresh salad with veggies and lots of herbs which I appreciate. The dressing is homemade but reminds me too much ofKraft Italien dressing. I wish we’d taken pictures but the food was too delicious! We were so excited to once the food arrived, we ate before I even... thought to snap a pic. We had the mac & cheese which was served in a hot skillet: nicely seasoned, super flavourful & creamywith a generous amount of gooey, bubbling, crispy cheese on top! A sprinkling of breadcrumbs was just right. We also shared afull rack of ribs which was perfect for 2 people (7 huge bones), they were cooked to perfection & fell clean off the bone assoon as I touched them with my fork - our knives were left untouched as they weren’t needed at all. A bottle of house-made BBQsauce was also provided but we didn’t need to add any as these ribs were well-sauced already. The ribs came with 2 smallportions of pickled coleslaw - no creamy sauce here, just refreshingly tangy cabbage & kale. We also had the fries: wellseasoned, crispy & served with a slightly spicy mayo. The green salad was also nice, topped with shaved radishes & micro greens.All in all a very delicious meal - we had to talk ourselves out of going back a second time the next night! Here are the reason I gave 5 stars. The mac’n’cheese was crispy on top and the cheese inside was top notch. The fried... chicken was delicious and I asked for the spicy mayo instead of the gravy, I highly recommend it. I also ordered the biscuit forthe dessert... just try it and you will thank me later. Had the fried chicken for takeout. It was nice and crispy with a bit of spices. The ratio batter/chicken was good :) and it came... wih gravy and coleslaw salad. They are pretty generous with their portions. 3 pieces of chicken is enough for a meal and if youtake a side of fries, it's plenty enough to fill you up. I would say the cornbread is equally the highlight here as it wasnicely balanced of sweet/savoury in taste. Even the carrot cake (which I highly recommend cause it was delicious), is a goodpiece.
