The ambiance was good. Definitely needs better lighting (we couldn’t read the menu due to poor lighting- had to use cellphone... lights). Although the place was relatively empty- we were rushed to order drinks/appetizers/ main course. Drinks were ok -nothing to write home about! Food was was also ok (we read previous reviews and stuck to ordering octopus and lobsterrisotto). They had free valet service which is a great plus for a downtown location. Read more

This is one of my favourite places in Montreal to eat fish. Their butterflied char grilled fish is cooked to perfection every... time. With a tasty salad on top and delicious sides to choose, it’s simply amazing. Not cheap! But you’ll enjoy everymorsel. Read more

We went last night as a group of 10 people. The design is gorgeous, and the music is excellent. We ordered multiple entrees, and... all of them were delicious...really amazing: humus with a bit of mint, crispy rice with tuna, cauliflower in a special sauce, and corn where you do not test corn. After this first delicious start, we all ordered a fish for 2 which was prepared with 2different sauces on each side...WOW. To finish they have been very kind and brought a cake for my wife's birthday at no charge. Read more

The black cod with carrots and fries was sensational. The service was phenomenal. This is one of the few places that is still... just as good in every aspect as it was pre COVID. Read more

I feel like two stars is quite generous considering my less than acceptable experience. The marketing for this restaurant is... great which is what pushed me to try it out. I definitely believe they rely heavily on their marketing for their traffic becausetheir food and service will not bring me in there for a second time. I had a party of three and was only brought two menus. Nota big deal but that was only the start of a terrible experience. Throughout the whole night, our water glasses were onlyrefilled twice. When my friend asked for a bottle to be brought over and kept at the table, it was to my surprise that we werecharged for the water. (Great business model I guess - keep your guests dehydrated so they’re forced to purchase water) Asfor food, all of the 1 star reviews are true. Please believe it. Our $59 octopus plate was for the most part potatoes. I am soglad to have paid a 1000% mark-up for a pound of potatoes. The lobster risotto was simply bad and caused a stomach ache for myparty of three. None of us have lactose intolerance or shellfish allergies so I am almost 100% sure the cause was due to poorfood handling. Tuna Tartare was alright. I would have rather walked a few more blocks to get sushi from SHUSHU if I’m goingto be honest. At least then, I would’ve actually enjoyed the taste. To top the night off, our server became hostile after notreceiving a tip from one of the guests in my table. I think it’s very important to reflect if your service was actually decentto begin with before throwing a tantrum at guests who received less than decent service. If I’m going to be honest, Iabsolutely regret even tipping the amount that I did after seeing how the server acted. Read more
