Went to Kinka Izakaya on a Friday night, got spots at the bar right away with no reservation. Restaurent has a nice cozy... atmosphere. The staff was friendly, they all yell something in Japanese everything a customer enters or leave, that was prettycute. Our waiter did not speak a single word in french, not that I care but some people might. We got served very fast and alsogot our food very fast, so definitely happy with that. Portions are not super big but not too small neither. My bibimbap wasjust burning hot rice with no beef to be found, a little disappointed in that. Prices are good for the food id say. I took the prawn tempura as an appetizer and the fried chicken curry with rice. Both were incredible. The curry was full of... flavour with many spices and tasted a little sweet and the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I took amacha creme brulee for dessert and it was delicious. The sweet macha cream complimented well the slightly bitter sugar layer ontop. The portions were big enough for me. Food - feels to be modernised Japanese. The tempura prawns is more prawn fritters than what we would associate with Japanese... tempura. The dishes tasted alright. The mains portions were not huge. Service - we were thankful to get a seat even though wedidn?t have reservation. The staff paced the dinner progression which was good. However, ee ordered the set with dessert, andwere not informed that the dessert item was going to be replaced. When they brought it over and we remarked that it wasdifferent, the staff wasn?t very polite and just asked ?so you don?t eat this??, instead of a simple explanation. Billing -There was also another error with the billing where the price charged was higher than in the menu. They got us in early which was very kind of them, they kept up checking on us frequently and the overall atmosphere was so... enjoyable to be in. The food was really delicious and so well done and fresh. My only concern was how long the food came out andthey actually forgot one of our orders after more than an hour wait.
