Had dinner on 11/04/2021 Dinner was 5 + 2 courses. Quite a good seasonal menu but compared to other fine dining french... restaurants in the city La Chronique had issues. I was dining in a party of 3, and was the one who chose the restaurant. Theserver only addressed the one man in our party 90% of the time, which made the service feel very dated. In terms of the food,the amuse bouché’s and dessert course was the best part of the meal. The lobster bisque was amazing and so was the foie grasmacaron. As for the main courses I was disappointed. The sashimi course was good. Thé morue was very over-salted, to theextent I found it hard to finish. I understand that morue is salted cod but the garnishes were also salted which amplified thesaltiness of the dish. Thé foie gras rôti was acceptable, but thé foie gras was gritty. Thé veau du lait was done two ways,and in my serving the sweetbreads were so overcooked that they were crunchy, like croutons. Service took a bit too long. Thewhole dinner lasted 2.5- 3hours. In comparison, bullion bilk served 8 courses with cocktails in 2 hours. I also noticed that myservings were in much smaller size and lower quality than my dining partners. To the extent my friend shared her portions withme. In summary, the food and service was acceptable but very inconsistent.
