I visited Chaberton yesterday with a couple of my friends, and we sat outside. It wasn?t very busy while we were there, but we... noticed the sign as we walked into where the picnic tables were that it was an hour time limit. One would assume that this ruleexisted for when they were busy, and perhaps had people lined up and waiting for a table. We purchased a couple bottles of wineto drink while we chatted (and one for home) but we got abruptly interrupted by a girl telling us we had twenty minutes left. Welooked around and there was no line of ppl, 7 empty tables, and the parking lot was pretty much bare. It was honestly shocking,because none of us could understand why would you want to shoo away some of your only customers. We were here a couple of weeks ago. We were waiting at the picnic area and no one acknowledged us and they were standing right... by us. They finally asked if we wanted a table but warned us they would be closing soon. They were still open for almost 2hours! They seemed to want to discourage us from sitting down. The lady was super rude, no smile, and looked miserable. We wentin for flights and were expected to know that we needed to mark off a paper for them. I asked a gentleman working if there wasan urgency for us to leave as the lady outside seemed to stress this and he was nice and said no and we had time. The picnicarea is great and the wine is nice. I just wish there was more friendly service even at a basic level. The older lady outsidewas unnecessarily rude. Read more

Excellent wine. The Bacchus is a guest favourite when we are having get togethers.

4.5/5 stars, we had a lovely dinner at baccus bistro on the patio. Food and wine was delicious, scalloped potatoes were a nice... bonus. Excellent service, beautiful property. Duck confit was a little on the salty side, but very nice. Bathrooms were astark contrast to the restaurant... but nothing that would stop us from visiting again. Read more
