Fantastic Caribbean cuisine in downtown Kitchener. It was easy to find parking in the back, but it's also in a nice walkable... location near the ION stop. The ambience of the place is very nice, it's beautifully decorated and the lighting gave the spacea very cozy feel. The service was very good, they were very personable and nice to us, and the food came out in a reasonabletime. The food itself tasted great. The portions for the price were very reasonable and filling. The plating of the food wasvery well done and looked pretty fancy. We had the pepper pot soup, curried goat, and jerk chicken. They were served with sideof rice and vegetables. Definitely worth going back. We will for sure to try the other items. Read more
Ordered take out from Ellison's for the first time. Got into the restaurant and was kindly greeted and informed our food would... be along quickly. Lots of lovely plants and community service plaques for their involvement. Food was delicious, with much caretaken. The roti was a must have among our party. The best caribbean food that I've experienced. The avocado stuffed veal was flavorful and filling. The pepper pot soup had a... unique combination of delicious flavors, the best soup I've had in months. The owners were friendly and wholesome. They made mefeel welcome and I learned about their history and experiences. The owner/chef is traditionally trained and fuses Europeantechniques with caribbean classics. A group of us ate at Ellison's last night. The restaurant itself is a more intimate setting and we had the place to ourselves.... The service was pretty attentive - and the food is so very good. Elvis greets you and is your chef and he knows what he's doingwith all the dishes - but seafood and the curries are my faves. If you're looking for some zippy hot food, it's here too.
